I have etc. to acknowledge the

receipt of your despatch No.608 of the

14th of November on the subject of the

pensionable status of Meher Khan, late

Assistant Warder, Prisons Department,

and to inform you that I approve of

his being awarded pension in respect of

his service from the 7th,

7th/November, 1923,

the break in his service in 1929 being

regarded as leave without pay.

2.

I would add that the general

question of breaks in service following

caused by voluntary resignation is under

consideration, and that this case will not

in any circumstances be held to constitute

a precedent.
